The first actions resulting from the union of the three associations arose in the following areas:
Healthcare
They organized a 4-day medical fair every year for three consecutive years, which includes the distribution of free medicine to all the patients.
Culture and Sports
In regards to athletics, these associations encouraged young people to develop a culture of healthy activity through sports, specially soccer, throughout the region by organizing championship tournaments during summer vacation. To encourage them, the two finalists’ team each received a trophy and a reward in the form of cash prize. Equipment and uniforms such as balls, shirts, shorts, socks, and shoes were donated to the Gressier soccer team for the interregional matches.
The coalition has also contributed to the renovation of the National School of Gressier. During two consecutive years, seminars were organized for the principals and teachers of Gressier and surrounding areas to focus these efforts toward improved management of human resources, without counting the many contributions and participations of these associations in the various social and cultural events.
Education and Development
This first stage of the global project resulted in the construction of a 220m2 building of reinforced concrete which will house a library measuring 72m2, a classroom for vocational training, and a room for computer classes. In fact, the first phase of the centre’s construction is complete, but there remains much work to be done for the center to be functional consisting of general electrification and furnishing so that the center can serve the population of Gressier.
